The Best Of Souliko
– MUSIC VIDEOS –
About Souliko… 8:30 pm, on a winter’s night, it’s cold here in Paris, and after a day packed full of meetings, studio recording, phone calls, office time, car time, traffic jams… I arrive at the Théâtre Dejazet to attend Souliko’s performance. As soon as she appears on stage, all dressed in white, I understand she is one of those artists gifted with a strong presence. Suddenly the stage morphs into a microcosm of its own, and Souliko plays the synthesizer, sings… her hands, her body, her eyes, every part of her is a show on its own, there is no triteness, only strength in her, and I wonder, how a woman with such a frail voice can sing so strongly on stage. It’s the soul… it’s mesmerizing, and when the show ends, the audience asks for more. The stage needs characters like Souliko, should we be so lucky as an audience to receive her raw and rich emotions.
Georges Lartigau (deceased) was a songwriter, artistic director of Barclay editions, music director to Régine, Serge Reggiani and Rika Zaraï, music arranger to Lény Escudero, Annie Cordy, Raymond Lefèvre, Aimé Barelli and Barbara.

The Poplar
Listen to me, I’m not from here
I have tucked in my white wings
I have made up my birds’eyes
I know air and become water
Please look at me I am a tree
Like leaves my hair flow in the wind
I am a proud and wild poplar
Singing the peace on the stars lyre
But among all, there is someone
Which sparkles as much as copper
A
Where
I love the voice of my planet
As a sacred sigh in the distance
Which is murmuring in my soul
The soft melody of Good

REVIEWS
T he Cosmos is her cradle, the stars are the Angel’s – her friends- swarming delight. She holds the ocean in her palms and the birds on the string of her voice. Such is Souliko, for whom life, both orange and sea urchin, is a shore where the underworld knocks. But what lingers on in the melting pot of her melodies, in the accents of her ethereal song, in the murmuring beds of so many luminous rivers, is the elusive, the intangible tenderness in everybody’s heart. Obstinate singer of the margins and the mundane, forager of humanity in her
long poetic journey, polishing and polishing again an archaeology of Love, marrying smiles and tears, Souliko never fails to deliver the true word of which compassion is a flagship. These music sheets and songs are the result of a great labor. They are the leaflets of a life where precious memory is ever present,
woven with strands of presence, silence, like a bouquet of offerings, of emotions and joys in music form.
